Red Bull Air Race London 2007

   

 

A sell out crowd of 35,000 lined the River Thames in Docklands to see former Top Gun instructor and 2005 champion Mike Mangold (USA) claim top spot in Round 6 of the Red Bull Air Race World Series on July 29. In the final heat Mangold of Team Cobra set a time of 1:25.82 minutes to beat Paul Bonhomme (GBR) of Team Matador by just 1.43 seconds. Third place went to Air Race legend Peter Besenyei (HUN) of Team Red Bull who was victorious over Alejandro Maclean (ESP) of Mediterranean Racing Team in the consolation final. Bonhomme currently leads the championship with 31 points, just one point ahead of Mangold with four rounds remaining. Next stop in the series is Budapest, Hungary on August 20.
