This year's Hawgsmoke A-10 bombing and gunnery
competition, held during October, was hosted by the 2006 winners
from the 303rd Fighter Squadron , 442nd
Fighter Wing, based at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. The
biennial event, competed for this year by 14 four-man teams, was
held at Salina, Kansas with the bombing and gunnery phase of the
competition taking place at the Smoky Hill Range. The 190th
Fighter Squadron, 124th Wing, from the Idaho Air National
Guard based at Boise International Airport were crowned Hawgsmoke
2008 champions and will therefore host the next event in 2010. |
